Acquia Drupal

Ian Bellchambers

We're excited to see a major development for Drupal with Acquia's announcement of the immediate availability of their own Drupal distribution and network support plan.

Acquia image

Founded by Dries Buytaert, the creator and project lead of Drupal, Acquia have released their own distribution of Drupal named, perhaps unsurprisingly, Acquia Drupal, including many (but by no means all) of the most popular and useful contributed modules.

Taking a leaf from Red Hat's book, Acquia's business model is founded on offering per-site support for Acquia Drupal to Acquia Network subscribers.

Our Drupal team are already evaluating Acquia Drupal, and we'll be keeping a close eye on further news and developments from Acquia.
